Musée Nicéphore Niépce - Chalon (France)

It was in 1861 that the images, personal objects & the first photographic apparatus in the world used by Nicéphore Niépce, inventor of photography & a native of Chalon-sur-Saône since 1816 were brought together. The recognition by researchers & historians of the great value of this collection led to the creation in 1972, of the Nicéphore Niépce Museum. It is through the eclectic & non-specialist nature of the Museum that it is considered as unique in Europe (http://www.museeniepce.com/).
