Antibes - South of France (July 2009)

Over 2000 years ago the Ancient Greeks colonised the town of Antibes (Known as the jewel of the Cote d'Azur). Antibes is between Nice & Cannes in the South of France, Cote d'Azur, on the French Riviera with sandy beaches giving it the reputation as the most enjoyable place in the Mediterranean. (My weekend to the south of France in summer was fantastic... thanks to a friend and his generous family. (July 11th-14th)).
Muséee Picasso : The Chateau Grimaldi became Picasso Museum December 27, 1966. Picasso stayed here from Sept - Nov 1946, it has many 23 paintings & 44 drawings of the town of Antibes. Varies gifts and donations enrich the collection of the Museum. Works by Nicolas de Staël, Hans Hartung, Anna-Eva Bergman & important artists of the twentieth century are present. A remarkable collection of sculptures by Germaine Richier & the works by Miró, Bernard Pagès, Anne and Patrick Poirier are always visible on the terrace
