Chàteau de Fontainebleau is one of the most beautifully decorated and furnitured chàteaux in France. The first chàteau was built in the 12th century and enlarged by Louis IX a century later and has 1900 rooms. It is renowned for its elegant Renaissance chàteau - one of France's largest royal residences.
